Zion cheerleaders perform at L.E.S.T.

Cheerleaders support our Zion Cougars during basketball season, leading Pep Assemblies, and performing at all home games and several away games. 8th grade students are given priority placement on the Cheer Team. At the discretion of the cheer coaches, seventh grade students may be invited to try out for the squad. Through participation on the cheerleading squad, girls learn the importance of teamwork, coordination, and discipline. As an active sport experience, cheerleaders are expected to commit to attending a mini-camp in August, weekly practices, basketball games, and cheer competition at L.E.S.T (Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament), Concordia University, Portland in Febrary. Participation in fund raising events during the year helps pay for uniforms.
