Each year in February fifth through eighth grade students from Lutheran schools around the Northwest participate in the Lutheran Elementary School Tournament (L.E.S.T) held at Concordia University, Portland, Oregon. L.E.S.T. provides young people an opportunity to fellowship with students from area Lutheran schools and to compete in academics, sports, music, and the arts. Following is a sampling of venues in which children can demonstrate their interests and skills:

Zion Lutheran School was honored to receive the Spirit Award at L.E.S.T. 2001 and 2006. The Spirit Award, presented to the school demonstrating spirit and Christian good will toward participating schools, took on special significance in 2001 as it coincided with our Centennial.
